The advantage of laser cutting machine is that it can cut aluminum foil into various shapes quickly and accurately. And aluminum cutting is mainly used in the field of aviation. In the present laser cutting system, many improvements have been made. The size of the heat affected zone (HAZ) and the corresponding haircuts are all reduced. Fatigue fracture usually occurred in the place of stress concentration, such as the edge of the parts, the changing parts of the geometry shape, or the joint parts.
Sheet metal body parts have a lot of different ways of bonding, and the vast majority of fatigue cracks occur in the joint. If the laser is not used for cutting joint holes, it is mainly used for the edge cutting of the components. It can be seen clearly that the micro cracks made by laser is not where the major damage is. Therefore, it can be concluded that if a part is possible to crack on the joint, laser cutting technology will not further damage the component’s fatigue properties.
On the other hand, laser cutting process can process consistent parts with a faster speed. Compared with the traditonal non- laser way, this is more effective, reducing the processing time and the cost of production.
For a long time, the advantages of laser failed to be play in the processing of 7000 series aluminum due to the reduction of fatigue performance.
